Mulsanne

Simply Beautiful...

You know the first thing I though about as a writer when I saw this car was the FONT. I thought what font would capture the pure essence of the simplicity of such craftsmanship...? Easily it came to mind, Papyrus. As I have been using it for years in situations just like this!
This is a Mulsanne A car, A statement, A reason for being. One of the few Automobiles on the planet that you have to step up to compensate instead of vice versa. As the makers of this automobile have a finely tuned sense of tradition that is displace in every Mulsanne produced.
This is a situation where the actual talk of price is somewhat inappropriate in itself. At this level of transportation almost everything is implied! This a ride of accomplishment. When the investments have paid off and it time to enjoy the fruits of labor. If cost is an issue please consider a BMW or some other brand. As this is a Mulsanne and if you can't afford it we really rather you not posses it.

2012 Porsche 911... A Double Dose of Flat 6's

This is the first Porsche I've seen that looks like a Porsche. It can be clearly assumed with or without factory markings that this is a Porsche. An excellently crafted piece of machinery built transport in a rapid fashion. This is the cabriolet which means she is topless. For a mere $109,000 (as tested) you earn the privileged of seeing her go topless whenever you like! So you may ask yourself (or I can tell you) why is this car wearing tennis shoes? Simply put because it runs and it runs fast. As you can see the front end was built specifically to take a lot, so give it a lot. This is true propulsion, a rear wheel drive drive train disguised as 3.8L H-6 easily propels this machine from 0-60 in 4.3 seconds.

Official Engine Description: "3.4L horizontally opposed six-cylinder DOHC with variable valve timing" just sounds cool right!

So while life was trying to keep up with the Carrera S Cabriolet Porsche without regard unconsciously slipped the GTS right under our noses.
So let's take excellence and tinker with it. The result a newly bred GTS. "Got The Speed" would be a good synonym for the initials! As this one does have the speed to match the looks. One of he few cars that look fast at dead stand still. More of an involvement, something that you don't just drive, you commit to it. The rear seats are optional! now where getting somewhere! As I've personally never seen anyone get out the back seat of a Porsche I never was a big fan of them. To me they were just weight as everyone else simply had to meet me there. This is driving, this is personal.

Intimidation redefined:
A company staple the Flat-Six a remarkable piece of craftsmanship. This engine has powered every 911 produced.  The unassuming outward appearance is a total facade as this monster comes to life with a distinct testosterone-filled growl. They did an excellent job of sticking and stuffing the extras where they would fit without interrupting the ergonomic flow of the interior.

Hard of Soft...

It truly is lonely at the top...
So if your in the market for a 911 make sure have the proper knowledge to get what you want. As they all seem to make a statement the choice shouldn't be too hard.

The Culprit...2012 Porsche 911 Carrera S

       You see I was told a few weeks ago verbatim;
" We have a Porsche for you to drive, all you need to do is provide as reason to drive at 120m.p.h. and faster!"
 My first response was
"Can I get it in a Black with a manual transmission?"
Immediately they replied;
"Sure"
Then blew my mind by explaining that it had a 7-Speed manual stock trans, this was the first time I had ever heard of a 7-Speed manual transmission. I was a bit intrigued as a true to form car enthusiast I have followed the Porsche for my whole life and for close to 60 years Porsche has been able to work well within the guidelines of the 911. I mean as far as models, variations and specifications go they have been able stay relatively close to original guidelines as well as tradition while also managing to keep pace with technology while not  compromising the integrity within the brand. This is hard to do year in and year out, and the main reason why A Porsche is still a Porsche more then 60 year later. Integrity in tact.
The 911 has consistently been referred to over the last 30 years as the "PERFECT" Sports car, who am I to disagree? This is the 2012 Porsche Carrera S, there simply is no better way to reach 187 mph. Where technology literally meets then pounds the pavement in the way only a flat-six can do. This Porsche bred Flat 6 forces out a remarkable 400 HP that translates into an exceptional amount of power controlled exclusively by superb handling, technology...you figure it out.
Yes this is an issue of control and since I paid for it I can control it, without question. Understand this is not and has never been an issue of ego, truthfully I need total control as I maneuver around corners at close to 100 mph, so control you see is essential. Excitement is the fact that I personally have control of a Flat-Six that can go from 0-60 in a mere 3.9 seconds! From a dead standstill! As with all forms of power control is absolutely necessary. Control has taken a technological aspect in the 911, which means as it moves at phenomenal speeds it is also simultaneously performing thousands of computerized calculations to assure that every element of technology available is being utilized.   Elements such as the "DYNAMIC CHASSIS CONTROL" as well as the "TORQUE VECTORING SYSTEM" installed specifically to Sling Shot the 911 around corners quickly at high speeds with no efficiency lost. One of the few automobiles you can seriously contemplate a right turn at 94 mph! We all knew before we entered in this relationship that speed cost, and its too late turn back now.

Turn on some music...
Now I can answer the question... what does Beethoven sound like @ 160 MPH! All I can say is it's a beautiful thing (it's worth the $108,000) This is where the balance of Classical design and raw torque power can merge and truly be appreciated. With tolerances within  ten Thousandths of an inch, perfection is not an overstatement. These tolerances as defined make a significant difference at 96 m.p.h. at 196 m.p.h. they make a "critical" difference! So when you look at the Porsche at dead standstill it may look a little "tight" to you from an engineering perspective, just remember, it necessary.

Sexy S.O.B
Hips and Thighs...look at the picture above...the perfect balance of power, masculinity and prestige. This masterful achievement of mechanical propulsion systems as defined is truly the voluptuousness of speed, a beautiful balance of power, control and direction. I did notice that the 2012 "S" did have some hips on it! I mean the rear end has always been a bit rumpy but these newly added hips really add a nice new sense of sex appeal. As I said earlier I don't know how they continue to get such positive feedback from a single model of automobile, the 911. Yet they continue to push the envelope to newer heights with total regard to tradition.

Needlework

This is where personal responsibility comes into play. The Gauges,  once the little needles get to jumping around as you pop clutched and yank gearshifts your responsibility is to go faster! Equipped with the optional "Sport Chrono Package", which boasts a 3.9-second zero-to-60-mph time. Activated by a "Sport Plus" button on the center console, which lowers the car, stiffens the suspension, heightens the exhaust note, and quickens the shift times, noticeably, among other changes. This is Porsche there are no shortcuts.
Raw Metals

This is the 7th Generation 911 (see video) simply put if you have the money for it, spend it! This isn't a purchase it is more of an opportunity to be involved. Stuttgart send it regards in the form of a piece of technological expertise that will only appreciate as time goes on.

"At your own risk" would be the best way to define the above picture since once you step into the cockpit life will never again be same for you. This is a Porsche a worldwide icon. A standard part of a dream so let's go fast!

At your own risk...this is Porsche in motion

Ferrari 458 Italia... A Spider that bites

The color you ask...Why was it even brought down from the heavens and bestowed upon earth in the first place. Why was man blessed with such a Fiery and Passionate Shade of being? In the heavens it's called Inferno...We call it Ferrari...

I can see the tentacles as they protrude from the body, hypothetically speaking. Yet as I look closer I see a piece of Artwork a true instant classic. Yet something was different then it hit me, This is not a car this is a living breathing organism, a Spider! Perfectly named as it seems to sleek around on a web of pavement looking for another chance to maneuver, brake and of course accelerate. I spent a little under an hour in the company of this Insect. What follows below can only be classified as "A Love Letter" and yes it was at first sight!

Can I take you out?
This car is an experience, a way of life...much more than a simple piece of machinery and yes this car is fast! As I watched it snatch away from me en route to a top speed of 202 M.P.H. I noticed it had nicer rear end than some women I've dated! A nice full voluptuous rear end that switches every time you pop the clutch. The 458, You don't drive this car out on a date you ask this car out on a date! Nothing else will ever look this sexy while producing a Down-force of 140kg (309 lbs) at 124 MPH!

Weighing in at only 1380 kg it does seem light enough to drive it to the party then simply throw it your pocket and walk in.

The Perfect Balance...
The uniqueness of the Spider. The Mid mounted engine perfectly drives the rear power train, Power. While the front wheels have exclusive 100% free reign over control and handling. A perfect trade off that gives the Double Wishbone Suspension full "Motion Control" of the front wheels, Direction

Hey sexy...You there in the Red...
The Ferrari styling as always hypnotically seductive as it sucks you into an instant love affair. Amazingly it constantly redefines it's Sexy Ass Attitude right before your eyes. With each new glance I see it in a new way, a new light then I realize this is beauty defined, right before my eyes! Then I take a few steps back to take it all in this is when I notice ...the curves...my my the curves the one thing that lets everyone know silently, this is a beauty in motion as well as at a dead standstill. Finally, I understand the term "Sex Sells"! This car is trying to seduce me  right here in broad daylight and i don't know how much longer I can hold out!

Excuse me coming through!
Though it may be a small insect it makes damn sure you see everyone else in "your" Rear-view mirror as it secretly covets a viciously savage mid-mounted 570 HP V8 engine that will easily keep up with anything with a drive train in it. That's right this is Ferrari, and keeping up just isn't good enough...so to make sure they not only kept up, but also to pulled away from the rest of the pack quickly and quietly they went ahead and sat a "Dual-Clutch" 7-Speed transmission on top of it!

May I come in?
As breathtaking as the outside is, to open the door is truly to go into another dimension. With an interior sanctioned by Micheal Schumacher. The ergonomics of the interior is nothing short of a Cockpit with both power and finesse at your fingertips. Seating as always in a Ferrari, perfectly situated with everything comfortably within reach as quick and easy access is a plus at 157 m.p.h.!

All said this is Ferrari at it's best, art imitating life, a true Spider in every sense, a mid-engined insect that crawls around looking for something to bite. I can understand now why Spider Bites are so infectious! So all Vipers, Mustangs and Porsche's be aware...it's a jungle out there! Don't get bit! Hypothetically speaking of course.
