The 2014 Ferrari 458 Speciale - The Perfect Replacement

The 2014 Ferrari 458 Speciale

The Ferrari 458 Italia has been retired as a model. Replaced by the new stunning 2014 Ferrari 458 Speciale.

2013 Go Fast - Most Sportscar makers for whatever reason chose 2013 to push the limits of performance, design and engineering in their 2013 models. Reaction was as expected lots of back slapping and premature praise.

2013 The Atmosphere - As expected the heavyweights sent their fastest to market:

                         Porsche * Corvette * Lamborghini * Audi*
All laid claim to some type of speed related record in some way. Coupled with advances in technology and engineering they stood firmly behind their models...

Ferrari sat back and took it all in, in fact waited an extra year then buillt the fastest sexiest Supercar the world had ever seen the 2014 458 Speciale.

Company Memo - The 458 Speciale would resemble the Italia in certain ways and certain ways it wouldn't. The motto was simple and company-wide “Strip Down and Muscle Up”. Which is why the 458 Speciale is both lighter and more powerful than its predecessor the Italia. Ferrari took these five words merged them perfectly with modern technology. The result is the 2014 Ferrari 458 Speciale.

Faster - Somehow someway the 4.5 Liter engine is able to produce an amazing 596 Horsepower! Up from the 562 that forced the Itlaia the super-speeds. The technology involved simply put makes this the most powerful V-8 Ferrari has ever placed on the road outside of racing purposes. Its power epitomized. The 458 Speciale is able to produce nearly 133 Horsepower per Liter! A 14:1 compression ratio, the highest of any V-8 in the world. Yes...this V-8 is on Steroids. What else should we expect this is after all an Italian Sports Car.

Slender and Sexy – Be sure and get a long thorough look at each of the pictures of this car, its sexy. Its 200 pounds lighter that the 458 Italia. It almost had to be to show off this neatly sloped body. Seemingly poured onto its 4 tires is a real treat for the eyes eye candy by pure definition. Of course the passionate color of Red helps in stirring up emotions only car this beautiful could invoke. I mean as you look at it from the front it clearly is the dominate species. Curvacious, full-figured. An automobile that imitates true beauty, a woman. Seductively built resting on voluptuous hips complimented by perfectly placed horizontal lines which move in and out of the framework, silently. There is nothing else this beautiful that can propel itself from 0-62 in 2.9 semi-instant seconds. I checked.

Everything Else – mid-engine built, with a perfectly centered power plant which seem to make everything else flow in rhythm, ergonomically towards the path of resistance. As it continues to year after year decade after decade generation after generation Ferrari the company, the man, the vision again exceeds all expectations of 2014. The perfect combination of power, beauty grace.

Who – As I sat and looked at the 458 Speciale I wondered who was it built for. I mean who would it fit. I thought “Alexander the Great” would look good in it (of course he would have to lose the armor) I could easily match such a personality with such a machine. Next I thought who would appreciate the beauty of it. Picasso came to mind his boisterousness would force him to touch the 200 MPH mark often. I imagine his artist rendition of the'14 458 Speciale in a portrait painting would be something special to see as well. Then it came to me! Of course...I would put Hemmingway behind the wheel. He would know what to do with the 596 Horses! The makings of a good story...Ernest Hemmingway at Ferrari’s historic Fiorano test track in Maranello, Italy, a couple shots of good liquor in him and put him behind the wheel. After his run is done ask him to write about it.
