Lot #941.2 - 1963 CHEVROLET IMPALA SS 2 DOOR HARDTOP

      I was recently approached by a Winterbird here in Tucson and asked about the about the auction currently taking place in Scottsdale. I referred to the website like normal. It then occurred to me that I personally had not cruised the actual site of the world-famous auction-based company. I realized most of the info I received was 3rd and at best, so I took a trip over to www.barrett-jackson.com. Both to my surprise and delight the site was extremely easy to navigate. The information was easy to access and understand. And unlike most sites at barrett-jackson.com I got what I clicked for! The pictures hands down are some of the best on the internet and they provide more than enough for each vehicle.

         Below links directly to the Barret-Jackson site are embedded right into the article (underlined). The site is great it shows a complete list of all the vehicles being auctioned off this year in Scottsdale. The list, a very thorough one, includes brief yet detailed description of each vehicle along with sales type (reserve/no reserve) and more important status. Not to mention (again) clear high quality pictures of of the rarest vehicles in the world. On this website pictures really do mean more than words. As we look at the cars from long ago. We wonder how can a machine be kept in such condition in spite of so many of life's circumstances in the years since? All the things the world has been through since, yet somehow this machine is here perfectly representing a time that will never come again. The past perfectly represented on all four wheels, in every possible cylinder. Barrett-Jackson does an great job of showcasing man's true best friend, his car.

  Lot #5059 - 1931 PIERCE-ARROW MODEL 41 SEVEN PASSENGER TOURING

      This year there seems to be quite a few being auctioned off for various charities. The link I found most helpful was the "Auction Date" links at the top of the page. Looking at the vehicles by their auction date provided much better organization and access to such large variety of unique one of a kind vehicles. The site also has auctions broken down by city also which I also found helpful.
      Early reports show the auction itself is going just great. As most of the expectations for the 2014 lot has been both met and exceeded. Reserves it seems are being meet much more than expected while bidding is consistent and competitive. Prices seem to be fair and consistent as the cars are being auctioned smoothly along with the process itself being a pleasure to participate in. Supply and demand it seems has a nice balance here at Barret-Jackson in 2014 as these rare one of a kind vehicles cross the block in Scottsdale. It seems to be a sufficient number of bidders on hand to to address to unusually high number of vehicles up for auction here in 2014.

   Lot #953 A Famous Rolls Royce 

Be sure and read the details on this 1973 Rolls Royce crossing the block on Scottsdale this year. It is somewhat famous both for owned it as well as who it transported.

This 1973 long wheelbase Rolls-Royce was gifted by Mr. Bill Harrah to Nick Sevano (Frank Sinatra's lifelong friend and manager) in Reno, where it spent its early years from 1973-1981 taking the "Rat Pack" to their famous gigs in Las Vegas, Tahoe and Reno. Mr. Sevano moved to Beverly Hills in 1981, where the Rolls-Royce received complete factory service and maintenance by Scott Motors in Los Angeles, an authorized Rolls-Royce repair facility. Everything works as it should and it drives like a Rolls-Royce that has been pampered without consideration to cost, with comfort and reliability the only objective. The original owner's manuals, large and small tools are intact, along with additional personal paperwork Mr. Sevano kept from new. Also included is a collection of gold keys in the original presentation case (Raymond & Co., Beverly Hills), one given to him in 1982 by his wife Jennie and the other two given to him at an earlier date by Mr. Frank Sinatra. Also included is the gold shield (cased), presented to Nick Sevano by the City of Los Angeles making him Ambassador (#137). The car is fitted with the desirable chrome bumpers.
